Brady devised an initial safety sign concept that could potentially be completely exclusive in the market. Open to new ideas, they approached us to explore the concept further.
The challenge was creating a floor sign that would stay upright in industrial environments, whilst maintaining visibility from every angle. Traditional floor signs fall over or get knocked down, rendering safety messages invisible. The product had to be compact for storage, quick to assemble and capable of connecting multiple units to create continuous safety barriers.
We expanded Brady’s concept by providing sketches to present different ideas. We produced CAD prior to prototyping and collaborated with their manufacturing partner to ensure it fitted seamlessly with the injection moulding process.
Prototypes were produced, tested and we worked hard on prioritising the features of real workplace safety challenges – stability, visibility and practical deployment. Strong market credentials were added – being compact to store, easy to assemble and the ability to connect into a substantial safety barrier.
Working with Brady’s initial concept, we delivered a unique 360° floor stand that revolutionised workplace safety signage through practical engineering and market-focused design. We worked closely with both our customer and manufacturer to make sure production costs were minimised, and that rapport has led to the strong business relationship we have with Brady.
This 360° floor stand quickly became Brady’s fastest-selling safety product launch and it’s easy to see why. The unique design filled a market gap that the competitors hadn’t addressed.
This innovative new design demonstrated how understanding real workplace challenges leads to product innovation that protects people. The 360° floor stand is now available through their Seton website.
